> So far so good - How was your first day of EIP? Positive and negative impacts?
At first I think I gotta say that this is my second year participating in the EIP, and of course, it's been awesome. I gotta be honest, this year I wasn't that excited before this week and consequently I wasn't getting involved to the whole group. But on the first day, as soon as I got at the airport in Brasilia, I saw those faces, even being new ones, it could only remind me of the first day of last year's edition. That was really overwhelming and it brought me a really nostalgic feeling. But at the same time I was happy for getting to meet other youth from the whole Brazil, again. The first day was really interesting because I got excited with the idea of being here again and having the opportunity to make this experience even better than last year. I felt that I changed a lot, my behavior, my points of view about so many subjects, etc. I really want to help this new team with the knowledge I've got since I opened my mind to a world of things.
-> Great expectations - What are your expectations about this week?
I hope this new experience to bring lots of knowledge to me and I hope to be able to make changes in someone's life here. It's noticeable that when we are surrounded by people from different backgrounds that come up with different points of view about anything and we are open minded to learn, understand and share knowledge, the change in our lives is unavoidable. It happened to me last year, and I really want it to happen to my new friends. I'd be unmeasurable happy to see that we all have got the most of EIP experience and we are going back home a new person. And of course, by this time our English skills will have been improved a lot because after all this is an English immersion program.
-> Role model - Who has inspired you the most in your life? How?
I could write here that my professors have inspired me the most in my life, because actually they've done it, they've made me look at them and imagine my future being as passionate as they are for what they've done in life, career, as humans and so on. But I gotta say that at the top of this pyramid of people who have inspired me so far, there are my parents, the ones who have been responsible for a piece of my success. No doubt, my parents are the ones who have inspired me to dream and go for them. I see them as an example of resilient people, they are always there overcoming difficulties and showing theirs sons how to grow up and live being honest, and always giving our best in order to archive our goals caring about each other.
-> Crossroads - have you ever had to make a really tough choice?
Of course I've had to make tough decisions and it sucks! But these experiences we used to see as bad ones usually get us thoughtful, which is a good thing.. sometimes! It depends on the situation, but generally when I get stuck with these tough decisions I start asking myself lots of things that will make me think about what really matters until I find a way to get out of it. I just try to be less emotionally involved and use the reason.
